Hello Moose members. I hope you all are doing well. We have a lot going on, so please mark your calendars and enjoy the fun.
To start with we are having a Labor Day picnic on September 4th, from 1 PM to 5 PM. George has agreed to play music for you. We will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs. I am asking if you could bring a cover dish. We will have a moon bounce for the kids, soda for the kids and draft beer for the adults. If you cannot make this event, then try to attend our September 11th Remembrance. Jim Hensel has flyers out in the Lodge so please stop by and enjoy yourself. The flyers will explain it all to you. If anyone knows how to run the pool tournaments, then please see me about this.
The queen is still alive so stop by on a Thursday night and try your luck at winning her. We have a new committee starting up for our Valued Vets, look for Randy and Morgan post in this newsletter.
Well, I will close for now, Hope to see you at our Lodge soon.
Paul Daigle, President
Wow! It’s hard to believe that it’s almost fall, only a few weeks away! Before we know it, the Christmas holidays will be here.
August was a busy month. We want to thank Judy Stiles, WOTM Secretary, who contacted Senior Sgt. Michael Christie and Sgt. Larry DiBella, with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Dept. These men came out to talk about Project Lifesaver. This program provides bracelets for children with Autism and Seniors who have dementia or Alzheimer’s. At the end of the program, Judy and Cory Clark, Acting Administrator, presented them with donations for additional bracelets and two dozen Tommy Moose. If anyone knows of a family that this program would be of assistance to, please let us know or contact the Spotsylvania County Search and Rescue department for more information. This program truly saves lives.
We have been working with the Lodge’s membership chairman, David Cramer and are looking forward to the first One Moose new member orientation to be held on September 29th at 7:00 pm. We are inviting all members, whether new or old, to come out and hear why we do what we do for our children at Mooseheart, our seniors at Moosehaven and our community.
We are looking for more volunteers to assist with the Lodge’s 9-11 20thAnniversary Memorial on September 11th. If you can give 1-2 hours of your time that day, we would greatly appreciate it. Please see signup sheet on WOTM Bulletin Board.
WOTM Training Session is scheduled for September 18th 9:00 AM til 4:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for anyone to learn how a chapter works and a great way to explore various positions available to chapter members. More information can be found on the WOTM Bulletin Board.
