As members, you all should know it’s the month of May- the start of the new Moose Year, New President, New Board Members, Committee Chairpersons and just about everything else within the Lodge moving forward for the Year 2022-2023. I don’t know how I got thrown under the bus (Tractor Trailer), but I did and am looking forward to the coming year. Hello brother and Sisters of The Family Moose Center 1655, it’s the beginning of a new calendar year. I just want to let you all know a little about myself. I have been a member of the Moose all most 20 years I transferred my membership from Corpus Christ, TX to Moose 1655 in 2006. I am a Vietnam Veteran, after Vietnam I went to college at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, I then went to work for Sikorsky Aircraft Co in 1975 in CT for 41 years, traveled the world then retired in 2016. As your President for this coming year, I will work with the New Board of Officers, House Committee, the Administrator, Social Quarters Manager, Committee, chairmen and the Women of the Moose (WOTM) to make sure the Lodge prospers and moves forward in the right direction. The member ship must understand it’s not about what the President wants or needs to do within the Lodge. It is all about what is good for the “Members” and what way can we enhance the growth and progress of the Lodge! Congrats and welcome to the new Board of Officers and House Committee you are a welcome asset to the Lodge as are all of the members. If any member has something they would like to bring up, COME TO A MEETING AND TELL US!! It can’t be solved in the Social Quarters.
I want to thank the WOTM and all that helped for a great Easter Party that they had for the kids. Cher, you were an awesome Easter Bunny. The most important aspect of the event was the kids had a great time and enjoyed themselves. Thanks, Ladies, for a job well done.
May 22, 2022, we are holding our annual Memorial Service from 1 to 3 PM in the Hall to celebrate the lives of our members that have passed away. Last years’ service had a huge turnout and was very respectfully done; I hope to see a good turnout for service this year.
Just a reminder to the members to support your Lodge by participating in the Friday Night dinners, Sunday breakfasts, and other special meals presented by Higher Degree, Moose Legion and WOTM. They all work hard and give their free time to provide these dinners and breakfast every month. They are always looking for volunteers to help in these efforts. I want to thank you all in giving your time and effort for the better of the Lodge.

Welcome to the start of a new Moose year!! The theme for this year May 1, 2022 – April 30, 2023, is “Make it Happen!! I would like to start off this article by saying Congratulations to both the men and women, who have been elected to the Lodge and WOTM boards. The new officers for the Women of the Moose are as follows: Senior Regent – Susan Malove
Secretary – Nancy Darrow
Treasurer – Terry Denniston
As we work through this first month, I am sure there will be some changes coming regarding what the Women of the Moose Chapter will be doing in the coming months. More to follow in future newsletters. We hope that you will continue to support both the Lodge and chapter by attending meetings, giving both boards new ideas for fun activities and charitable events along with supporting Mooseheart and Moosehaven. We need everyone helping to Make It Happen. When you sign up a new member, are you telling them what the Mooseheart and Moosehaven are? Are you telling them about the Women of the Moose Chapter and why they should consider joining the chapter? We hope you are as the Chapter is a very vital part of the Lodge. We are looking for volunteers (men or women) to help with our Friday Night Dinners even if it is for only 1-2 hours. Remember all funds that we raise are used for the Chapter’s monthly obligation to support Mooseheart and Moosehaven along with the community. We are also looking for any women interested in holding a chairman’s position. Please see any of the WOTM board of officers or drop your name and number in the WOTM white mailbox. UPCOMING Events

Here we are, ringing in the new Moose year. I'll start by congratulating the new Lodge Board of Officers and wishing them well. As for your Moose Legion, I want to thank Mark Collins for stepping up to Office of Moose Legion Chairman for the new year. Not much going on with your Moose Legion Committee lately because of Bull Run Celebrations, but our next meeting will be May 28th, social hour starts at 5:00 and meeting follows at 6:00. Come out and join us. The May MLC breakfast will be on the 15th and the prime rib dinner is on 27th. Support your Moose Legion.
